FAQs

1. The Race

Are places available to buy on race day?

If the event sells out places won’t be available to buy on the day but are available to buy HERE in advance.

If places are available, they will be able to be purchased at £30 on the day. We do not have card facilities so this will need to be the correct money in cash.

Can I walk some or all of the course?
Walking some of the course is fine but we do ask you do your best to finish within an hour and a half to allow for events after the 10k to take place within the grounds and the volunteers to finish their roles.
If you would like to build up your fitness levels in the lead-up to the event, then why not join a local running club like the Ealing Eagles.

Can I get a refund, transfer to another runner, defer or edit my entry?

As per our T&C’s when you sign up, we are unable to offer refunds or deferral of entries to next year for any circumstance as your fee will have been used well in advance to pay for all the services needed to host the race.

YOU MUST CHANGE THE DETAILS ON YOUR EVENTS AS WELL AS YOUR MAIN ACCOUNT DETAILS.

Editing your details: You can update your details for FREE until a week before the event by logging into your RaceNation account on a PC (not via the app if you have it downloaded). After that the data will start being processed by the timing company and any changes may incur an admin fee.

Refunds: Unless you have taken out Registration Protection on entry, no refund can be given if the race has to be cancelled or postponed due to circumstances outside our control. Your entry fee is invested in the cost of staging the event, and the main costs to contractors, suppliers, administration etc. are already committed well before race day. Please check what is covered before you book the insurance as we are unable to deal with any queries.

Deferrals: Your entry fee is invested in the cost of staging the event you have entered, and the main costs to contractors, suppliers, administration etc. are already committed well before race day. Deferrals would mean future events have runners but no financial contribution so would mean the event is not sustainable.

Transfers: We do understand circumstances change so are able to allow transfers of your place for free until a week before the event by logging into your Race Nation account.

To do a transfer please refer here: https://support.race-nation.com/article/203-transfering-to-new-entrant. Please note no refunds are processed. Payment will need to be arranged between yourself and the new entrant taking over the entry.

Can I wear headphones during the race?

Headphones are banned from this race. Runners choosing to ignore this rule will be removed from the results.

For reasons of runner safety, because the park is so busy, and in order that you can hear marshal’s instructions, headphones are not permitted at this event.

Please adhere to the rules or disqualification will apply.

Is it easy to park my car near the start/finish area?

Parking is charged in the park carparks.

There will be limited parking on site and it is advisable not to drive if you can avoid it. Due to the park being open to the public, and hundreds of runners being expected the car parks are likely to be full so please arrive in plenty of time if you require a space.

Alternative parking is available on the roads outside. Residents parking is not in effect on a Sunday but please allow for at least a 30 minutes’ walk to the race village, plus additional time to store your bag before heading to the start. Baggage storage will be open air as per parkrun style and left at your own risk.

Is there somewhere to store my bag?

We ask runners to avoid bringing a bag if at all possible due to limited storage options in the park.

We can provide an open area that will be staffed during the race if you need to store a bag for the duration of the run. Please do not bring anything valuable and monitor the weather as you may need to make sure your bag is waterproof.

What time does the race start?

The race will start at 10:30am on.

Please make sure you arrive at the Race Village in Gunnersbury Park (on the lawn behind the museum) in plenty of time to collect your race bib, deposit your baggage, and enjoy the atmosphere and warm-up.

Will there be pacers leading groups?

Yes. We’ll use experienced runners from running clubs such as the Ealing Eagles as pacers to lead a wide range of pace groups to their target time.

Look out for the pacers on Race Day, they’ll be clearly visible.

Will you be using Chip Timing for the race?

Yes, we’ll be using Chip Timing (which is on the back of your race number) to ensure that all runners receive an accurate personal time in addition to the gun time.

Timing chips are distributed in the race packs. Sensors are triggered at the start and finish line so that an accurate personal time can be given for each participant.

Please be careful with your race number, take care not to bend it and be careful not to pierce the chip when pinning to the front of your running top.
